Support pours in for Kansas City children’s doctor critically hurt in unsolved hit-and-run

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Children’s Mercy doctor was severely injured after he was hit by a car while biking home from the hospital last week. The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department says the driver fled the scene, and a hit-and-run investigation is ongoing.

“He’s just one of the happiest, nicest, supportive people,” said Sanjna Pradhan, his cousin. “He is a pediatric cardiologist, and I think it’s just the epitome of why do things like this happen to good people because how much better can you get than a pediatric cardiologist?”

Pradhan says her cousin, Dr. Saswat Das, recently moved to Kansas City from Arkansas for his fellowship at Children’s Mercy. He always biked home from the hospital, and last Wednesday was no different. It was just after 8 p.m. when he was hit on 39th Street near Harrison Parkway…
