Independence man faces charges after fleeing from Hamilton police

A man from Independence faces multiple charges in Caldwell County following his arrest in Hamilton after authorities reported he was driving a stolen vehicle and attempted to flee law enforcement.

The defendant, identified as William Duane Milnes of Independence, has been charged in the 43rd Judicial Circuit Court with four offenses. Those charges include tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree, resisting or interfering with arrest for a felony, failure to register a motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle without a valid license.

The charges stem from an incident on September 25, when Hamilton Police Chief James Kirkendoll observed a green 2013 Subaru traveling north on Highway 13 within the city limits.
