LENEXA, Kan.—Three months after Lenexa police fatally shot a suspected gunman, the Johnson County District Attorney has ruled the killing a justified response.
Thursday, the DA’s office released body cam footage from the June 22nd incident, when officers responded to an armed disturbance where they found 25-year-old Jose Enrique Cartagena Chacon in his car with what was later discovered to be a pellet gun.
Authorities say the footage shows Cartagena Chacon did not cooperate with officers’ demands, and that he was grabbing the butt of his gun, prompting one officer to fire his own gun eight times…
