KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – To begin this week, Monday and Tuesday feature a pretty significant temperature swing that will have you grabbing different clothes each day. Southerly winds early Monday will warm us into the lower 70s. A dry cold front introduces northwesterly winds that cool temperatures below average levels on Tuesday, the lower 60s.
I think we are really going to enjoy Wednesday and Thursday. High pressure brings us our driest air since early May and creates our nicest afternoons for the week. Grab the sunglasses. Total sunshine from Monday and Tuesday spills into Wednesday with increasing clouds on Thursday ahead of our next chance for rain.
Our weather changes quickly on Thursday night with the arrival of our first fall system. What that means is a steady rain for several hours and much cooler afternoons. Highs may not escape the 50s on Friday and Saturday. We issued a new FIRST WARN for Friday. Light to moderate steady rain falls during the morning, likely disrupting your plans. This slow-moving system finally exits east on Saturday morning. Total rain accumulation could near 1″ around Kansas City with lighter amounts north and heavy amounts south.
Between now and then, conditions will likely change a bit. We will let you know as soon as that may happen.
