KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A man and woman who were charged in connection with their child’s death have entered a plea deal and been sentenced.
Moses Lee Bass and Destiny Randle pleaded guilty to second-degree child endangerment and were sentenced to five years probation on Monday.
Bass had told investigators he had been walking his dog when his son Tidus fell from the Independence Towers apartment window on July 29, 2024. Randle told police she was in a bedroom in the apartment. Bass admitted in court documents that he knew the boy could open the window because he’d thrown toys out of the window before.
In a probable cause document, Bass was alleged to have known about the window’s safety hazards since June 2023, and that he knew children had been able to bypass the locks and get out of the window since December 2023…
