Kansas City’s emergency food pantries are preparing for a surge in demand after officials warned that November 2025 SNAP benefits may not be issued if the federal shutdown continues.
Missouri’s Department of Social Services stated November SNAP cannot be distributed during the shutdown, potentially affecting around 650,000 Missourians.
