Folly Theater cancels weekend shows following overnight break-in

Performances at Kansas City’s historic Folly Theater have been cancelled this weekend following an overnight break-in, theater representatives say.

Cassidy Manetta, the marketing manager for the theater, told reporters in a press release Friday that the break-in is projected to cost the theater over $250,000.

While it’s unclear when exactly the break-in occurred, theater staff discovered the damage Friday morning, Manetta said. All six of the theater’s lobby monitors were destroyed, broken glass was discovered in the West Lobby door and food products were thrown across counters and floors.
