Popular drive-thru display of holiday lights will return to KC’s Northland

Winter Magic and its array of synchronized holiday lights stretching over more than 1 mile will return for its second year at Platte Purchase Park in the Northland with more lights and a new mix of songs. Benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital, it will open Saturday, Nov. 1, and run through Jan. 4.

The Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department’s popular drive-thru event features what is billed as the Midwest’s longest animated light tunnel.

It will kick off Saturday, Nov. 1, with a lighting ceremony at 6:45 p.m. followed by a parade and official drive-thru at 7 p.m. Tickets for opening night are $30. Otherwise, admission ranges from $20 to $40 per vehicle, depending on expected demand…
