Día de Muertos celebration in KCK remembers those who have passed

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Central Avenue in KCK was packed Saturday as the Día de Muertos celebration kicked off. The multi-day holiday focuses on gathering family and friends to remember loved ones who have died, as well as to help their spiritual journey. It’s celebrated throughout Mexico and by people with Mexican ancestry, but it is acknowledged internationally in many cultures.

“It’s a very beautiful event that they put on every year, and I think it’s getting better and better,” said Reyes Calderon, the president of the Sit-N-Low Car Club KC. The club hosted the car show this year, with several cars showcasing ofrendas, an altar with photos…..
