KC area voters back four-day school week, elect new KCK mayor

Tuesday’s elections gave Kansas City metro voters a say on major local decisions, from who leads their counties to how schools schedule the week and who takes over as mayor of Kansas City, Kansas.

Here are some of the results.

Jackson County

Residents considered two ballot issues: one on changing the county assessor’s office to an elected position, and another on whether the Independence School District may continue a four-day school week under a new state law.
