KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sunday marks day 40 of the historic government shutdown and for more than 800,000 families in Missouri and Kansas that receive SNAP benefits, that means more than a month of not knowing when their next meal will be.
While the future of SNAP remains uncertain, local groups, The Kansas City Hub and KC Tenants, are stepping in to fill the gap.
