A resident living near the Sporting KC soccer complex recently reported hearing a series of loud, deep booms. The individual described the sounds as so intense that they could almost feel the vibrations. The noises, which occurred at various intervals between 7:20pm and 7:57pm, were not characteristic of any typical sounds such as sonic booms, blown transformers, or collisions. The resident, who works in the train yards and is familiar with the sound of cars slamming all day, was convinced that these were explosions of some sort.
