South Kansas City Alliance discusses blight, property tax assessments with Mayor in attendance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – At Monday night’s South Kansas City Alliance meeting, Mayor Quinton Lucas and Theresa Garza, the chief of staff for the interim Jackson County Executive, fielded questions by residents.

Lucas heard about concerns with access to healthcare and blight in the area. Garza spoke on residential property tax assessments.

“It sounds like people want us to do a lot more,” said Lucas on blight. “Expect from city hall for us to say ‘How can we address blight? How can we work with business owners to first try to fix it?’…
