Historic Ellison Hotel reopens as affordable housing in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Historic Ellison Hotel, a Kansas City landmark, is reopening Wednesday as an affordable housing development after extensive renovations.

Originally built as the Ellison Apartment Hotel in 1926-27, the building has been transformed into income-restricted apartments, aligning with Mayor Quinton Lucas’ initiative to increase affordable housing in the city.
