Man Who Called In Bomb Threat To Ford F-150 Plant Sentenced

Back in 2023, the Kansas City Assembly plant in Claycomo, Missouri – which builds the Ford F-150 and Ford Transit – was evacuated after a man claiming to be an employee at the plant called FoMoCo’s safety and risk management team to say he was disgruntled, barricaded in a bathroom at the facility, and armed with explosives, a rifle, and a handgun. That man was later arrested and he plead guilty for those crimes this past June, and now, he has been formally sentenced.

According to the Kansas City Star, Clay County Judge Shane T. Alexander sentenced the man – Zachariah A. Peterson of Independence, Missouri – to four years in prison initially. However, the judge then suspended the execution of that sentence, and will instead place Peterson on five years probation. If he violates those terms, Petersen will be forced to serve the sentence out in prison, however, and he was also ordered to serve 75 days of incarceration as well – though credit was given for time already served.

As for the terms of that probation, they include requirements to participate in any substance abuse treatment ordered by the probation officer, performing 40 hours of community service when Peterson isn’t employed full-time, completing 200 hours of community service within two years, and submitting to random drug testing at a minimum of two per week for at least 60 days…
