A Kansas City man received a federal prison sentence on Thursday for illegally possessing a firearm while on probation for a prior felony conviction.
Shannon J. Price, 30, was sentenced to 115 months in federal custody, equal to approximately 9.6 years, by U.S. District Judge Greg Kays. The punishment stems from Price’s conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm, a violation of federal law that prohibits individuals with felony records from possessing guns or ammunition. Court officials noted that Price has several previous felony convictions.
