KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Time to get out your snow clothes and snow scraper for your car.
Our first snow of the year is moving through western to central Kansas now. Arrival time is around 6 am, with the snow exiting east around 6 pm. This storm is not carrying a lot of moisture, just enough and at the right time to be impactful to hazardous. We will deal with the highest impacts from 10 am to 4 pm. This is when the majority of our snow accumulates. That means the evening commute will present more challenges than the morning commute.
Let’s time the storm:
5 am -10 am: light snow spreading west to east across the entire viewing area. Dusting to half an inch of snow totals. Low impacts expected, mainly wet streets.
10 am – 4 pm: light snow continues with periods of moderate snow. Snow totals from 1″ to 3″. Moderate impacts expected, wet to slushy/snow-packed streets…
