KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – A summer flood that devastated a Kansas City, Kansas, nonprofit and sent mud through its facility has not stopped the organization from expanding its mission to serve the community.
The McNewton Community Outreach Center on 13th Street near Parallel Parkway now serves hundreds of people on a weekly basis, despite July’s flood destroying a wall and setting the organization back.
Only a few signs of the destruction remain around what has become a safe space for people in the community…
