Dozens evicted after Kansas City motel shut over ‘unsafe, unsanitary’ conditions

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Dozens of people are looking for places to stay after they were told to check out of a south Kansas City motel Tuesday.

Two of the residents said they’ve lived at America’s Best Value Inn near Interstate 49 and Blue Ridge Boulevard for years. Tuesday they were told to leave the property within 48 hours. It’s left many stunned.

“Me and my 13-year-old son, we are officially homeless,” said Ruth Brock; they’ve lived at the motel for almost three years. “We have nowhere to go.”…
