Kansas City Man Pleads Guilty to Raping and Robbing Three Women in 2023

A Kansas City man has admitted to a series of violent crimes involving sexual assault and armed robbery, leading to a lengthy prison sentence. The guilty plea resolves multiple cases involving three women who reported terrifying encounters in 2023.

Guilty Plea and Charges

Dairon Lee Riley, 25, pleaded guilty in Jackson County District Court to six felony charges, including:

  • Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse
  • Second-degree kidnapping
  • Two counts of second-degree robbery

A total of 14 additional charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

The court ruled that one sexual abuse charge and one robbery charge will run consecutively, while the remaining charges will run concurrently, resulting in a 21-year prison sentence.

A woman told officers she had arranged to meet Riley at an Independence motel to sell him her iPhone. After he picked her up, he drove her to the location where:

  • He allegedly brandished a knife
  • Disabled location services on her phone
  • Stole her phone, cash, and Taser

Following this report, police linked Riley to two similar cases.
