KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) is joining agencies across the metro to make sure law enforcement is prepared and ready for the World Cup next summer.
It’s a national security event, with about six months left for multiple federal, state, and local agencies to be ready. KCPD Captain Jacob Becchina said work is already underway, conducting regular training.

Becchina said the overall strategy has a lot to do with protection for events, like the matches and Fan Fest. Law enforcement is also holding regular trainings that have to do with safety, traffic flow and crowd management.
