KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An elementary school in the De Soto School District canceled classes on Friday after seeing an uptick in student absences due to the flu this week.
According to a district spokesperson, Mize Elementary School canceled classes on Friday after it saw a 4% increase in student absences, from 14% to 18%, since the start of the week. These were “mainly due to influenza and other respiratory symptoms.”
