EPA awards Kansas City $5M for organic waste collection, food rescue programs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Mayor Quinton Lucas announced Wednesday that Kansas City has been awarded a $5 million Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The grant will help expand the city’s organic waste collection and food rescue programs.
