Kansas City job market struggles with employment remaining flat for 18 months

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City’s employment has been flat for 18 months, according to a report by the Mid-American Regional Council, leaving the region lagging the nation by four percentage points in job recovery since COVID-19.

The unemployment rate has risen to 4% as the region’s job market faces multiple challenges, including federal workforce cuts and a slowdown in the tech sector.
