Owner of troubled funeral home charged with exploiting disabled client

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The owner of an already-troubled Kansas City funeral home now faces criminal charges for the alleged exploitation of a disabled client.

Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced the charges on Monday, Dec. 22. Her office partnered with Attorney General Catherine Hanaway to investigate Savory and Sons Funeral Home.

“When a funeral home exploits grief with false promises, we will hold them responsible,” said AG Hanaway. “Families should never face the risk of having their trust in a funeral home betrayed. We are glad to secure this indictment alongside Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson for the people of Missouri.”…
