Five neighbors rescued as two-alarm apartment fire forces 14 to evacuate

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Fire Department confirms firefighters rescued five people in a Monday evening apartment fire now being investigated by the Kansas City Police Department’s Bomb and Arson Unit.

The Kansas City Fire Department responded to the blaze in the 1700 block of Kansas Avenue near 18th and Benton Blvd. on December 29, just before 7:30 p.m.
