KCFD says 8 fires broke out at vacant Parade Park apartments over the past month

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fires have plagued the vacant Parade Park apartments over the last year, and the issue has only gotten worse in recent months.

A fire broke out at Parade Park Homes on Tuesday evening. It marked the eighth fire that KCFD has responded to there just since Thanksgiving.

“They’ve gotten to be so difficult to fight, not only because of the elements and being cold out, that kind of thing, and keeping our people safe, but just the structures are becoming more and more dangerous with more fires, tearing up the buildings,” said KCFD Battalion Chief Riley Nolan…
