Kansas City Police Department shares improved 2025 crime stats: ‘KC is getting safer’

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – In a brief report shared Monday, the Kansas City Police Department said major crime rates fell “significantly” in 2025.

According to data comparing 2025’s major crime rates to 2024:

  • Homicides fell 5%
  • Non-fatal shootings fell 31%
  • Robberies fell 27%
  • Property damage fell 19%
  • Stealing fell 15%
  • Stolen autos fell 32%
