EBT cards emptied, leaving Kansas City families without food benefits

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Multiple Kansas City-area families say they have been victims of EBT card fraud, leaving them without food benefits for the rest of the month after federal funding to replace stolen benefits lapsed last year.

KCTV5’s newsroom received numerous calls from residents reporting fraudulent charges on their SNAP benefit cards. This was following our report on Tuesday of a local mother who discovered missing funds this past weekend.
