KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Civic leaders plans to beef up business for the upcoming World Cup are progressing.
The city’s Open Doors program, which is sponsored, is preparing to choose pop-up merchants for vacant storefronts. The hope is to fill many of those vacancies before the matches begin in June. 50 businesses remain in the consideration process. Open Doors started with more than 100 applicants.
