Kansas City firefighter injured while working fire in fourth-floor soybean hopper

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A commercial plant fire broke out early Sunday morning, the Kansas City Fire Department reports.

Crews were called to the Cargill plant at 2334 Rochester Avenue around 5:39 a.m. on January 18. A hopper containing soybeans had caught fire four stories up, requiring firefighters to pull their lines up the plant’s stairs.
