Video shows firefighters putting out fire at soybean plant in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Firefighters were on the scene of a large commercial fire for several hours Sunday morning at a soybean plant in the Northeast Industrial District, according to the Kansas City Fire Department.

KCFD reported that at about 5:40 a.m., crews were called to the area of Nicholson and Rochester Avenues on reports of a fire at the Cargill plant.

When crews arrived, they were met by staff who said a fire had broken out inside a material hopper — an industrial-sized container holding soybeans — four stories up.
