Kansas City man accused of selling cars on Facebook, then stealing them back

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City man is accused of running an elaborate car scam: selling vehicles to unsuspecting buyers on Facebook Marketplace, then stealing them back.

Mamadou Diallo, 24, now faces 14 felony charges after allegedly defrauding at least 8 victims out of more than $24,000, Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Court records show that Diallo is charged with 6 counts of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and eight counts of forgery. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to 98 years in prison…
