A 28-year-old man from Independence, Missouri, was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Jackson County.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:32 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2026, on eastbound I-70 west of Woods Chapel Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Investigators said the driver of a 2014 BMW X3 was traveling eastbound when the front of his vehicle struck the towed unit of a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer, which was also eastbound.
