Trash pickup services within the city limits of Kansas City are cancelled this weekend, as several inches of snow expected to blanket the metro this weekend.
Officials with the city of Kansas City said they have decided to cancel trash and recycling collection services for Saturday, Jan. 24, and will shift those staff members to snow plow operations. Public works spokesperson Ryan McMonigle said in an email this is also to protect trash collection staff from dangerous temperatures.
Trash service was already delayed by a day due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, so normal Friday collection was set for Saturday…
