Kansas City woman arrested with 2 ounces of methamphetamine during traffic stop near Boonville sentenced to 9 years in prison

A Kansas City woman arrested with more than two ounces of methamphetamine during a Cooper County traffic stop is sentenced to prison.

It was this past December when a state trooper who was performing routine stationary traffic enforcement on I-70 near Boonville spotted a driver with an expired temporary tag. After stopping the driver, Dawn Levi, the trooper learned she was on probation for possessing a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance. The trooper reported Levi was acting nervous, admitted to recent drug use, and she and her passenger gave conflicting reports of their travel plans.

During a search of Levi’s car, the trooper recovered two pipes with white residue, a digital scale with white residue, and 2.08 ounces of methamphetamine…
