‘Swiftynomics’ highlights Taylor Swift’s economic impact in Kansas City and beyond

A Kansas City-area professor has published a book highlighting one of the world’s biggest pop stars and other women’s influence on the economy.

‘Swiftynomics: How Women Mastermind and Redefine Our Economy’ came out in late January 2026. The author, Misty L. Heggeness, has a background in economics and research, which helped drive this project. Her curiosity during the COVID-19 pandemic fueled her.
