One adult, two juveniles injured in crash, suspected impairment investigation opens

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Three people were injured in an early morning crash in Kansas City.

It happened just before 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, on Southbound I-35 at the Eastbound I-70, Westbound I-670, and Southbound I-71 highway split. Multiple KCPD units arrived to the scene on a reported collision with life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on I-35 at a high rate of speed. At the highway split, the Nissan failed to negotiate the painted gore lines, traveled straight off the roadway and struck the concrete support for the overhead highway signs…
