A Kansas City man accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman over the weekend allegedly told emergency dispatchers that someone was trying to kill him.
Darrell Worrell, 48, is facing one count each of first-degree assault or attempted assault and first-degree kidnapping, according to a Jackson County charging document. He also faces two counts of armed criminal action.
Officers with the Kansas City Police Department responded to a residence in Kansas City around 11 a.m. Jan. 6 after Worrell told dispatchers “someone was trying to kill him, and he had a female inside at knifepoint,” a probable cause statement in support of Worrell’s arrest said…
