KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Enjoy our February warmth while it lasts. A spring-like stretch takes over the forecast Monday through Thursday, with temperatures climbing into the 60s and 70s before winter makes a dramatic comeback.
The warmth is part of a larger pattern that’s making February one for the record books. The first 15 days of this month rank as the 5th warmest on record in Kansas City. By the end of Thursday, that ranking will climb to 3rd warmest.
Peak Warmth Tuesday, Storms Possible
Highs Monday through Thursday will range from the 60s to low 70s, making it feel more like spring than mid-February. The warm stretch peaks Tuesday, when temperatures reach near 71°, potentially tying for the fourth warmest February 19th on record.
A cold front sparks a 30% chance for scattered storms Tuesday night. Not expecting any severe weather.
Winter Returns Friday
Don’t pack away the winter coats just yet. Winter makes a sharp return starting Friday. Highs drop back to the middle 40s, right on par for this time of year…
