One of Kansas City’s most recognizable pastry programs is getting a home of its own.
This May, award-winning pastry chef Megan Garrelts of Rye is opening a bakery, Cornflower Baked Goods at Mission Farms (10555 Mission Rd., Leawood, KS). The bakery is slated to open in May, just in time for Mother’s Day.
Garrelts’ pastries, like her pies and cinnamon rolls, have long been the standout menu items at Rye, the Midwestern restaurant she co-owns with husband and chef Colby Garrelts.
