TOPEKA (KSNT) – A representative in the Kansas House has died Monday morning.
Kansas House Speaker Daniel Hawkins announced on March 2 that Representative John Resman (R) of Olathe died earlier in the morning at his home. Resman represented House District 121 which includes cities and townships in Johnson County.
“Representative John Resman served with integrity, dedication, and a genuine care for the people of his district,” Hawkins said. “Beyond being a true friend to so many in the House, he was a strong advocate for his community, always approached his work dutifully, and thoughtfully took in the perspectives of his constituents when making decisions. Our prayers are with his wife, Elizabeth, his family, and all who knew and respected him during this difficult time.”

Hawkins’ said that Resman previously served in the Army and spent 28 years in law enforcement with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, serving as deputy sheriff. He began his service in the State Legislature in 2017.
Democratic Governor Laura Kelly ordered that all flags on state buildings, grounds and facilities will be lowered to the half-staff position on the day of internment in honor of Resman. The day of internment for Resman has yet to be released…
