Air strikes on Iran send Kansas City gas prices surging

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Gas prices jumped by as much as 50 cents at some gas stations in the Kansas City Metro after the weekend attack on Iran. Many gas stations are now selling gas at $2.99 a gallon.

Colleen Weems was one of the lucky ones on her hunt Monday for gas prices similar to what they were before U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran started this weekend.

“I was going to the Plaza this morning and then I saw $2.99 and I was like shoot. Then I saw this one at $2.44 this morning and I’m going back that way and I’m like I’m going to stop and top off my tank here,” Weems said filling up across from the fire station on Holmes north of 1-435…
