Popular fast food chain closes Kansas City location amid franchise bankruptcy

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — a popular fast food chain with locations across the country — has closed a Kansas City location.

The Martin City spot at 13628 Washington St. closed Feb. 26, according to signs posted around the restaurant.

The restaurant was owned by franchise M&M Custard LLC, an Overland Park-based company that filed for bankruptcy in November. It owns dozens of locations in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky and beyond…
