Fugitive arrested years after shooting death of 16-year-old girlfriend

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – A man who spent years as a fugitive is now charged with murdering his teenage girlfriend.

Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson announced on Wednesday, March 4, that Justin Finch, 21, faces several charges in connection with the homicide:

  • Second-degree murder
  • Armed criminal action
  • First-degree burglary

The charges follow the June 23, 2021, shooting death of his then-girlfriend. Finch was 16 at the time of the killing, according to prosecutors.
