KCFD knocks down fire at Olive Park Village apartment building

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City firefighters brought an apartment building fire under control late Thursday morning at the Olive Park Village Apartments in the 2300 block of East 9th Street, not far from Independence and Prospect Avenues.

Crews with the Kansas City Fire Department were dispatched at 11:07 a.m. on a report of an apartment fire. Firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire showing from a two-story vacant apartment building, KCFD said.

Interior operations were launched using multiple handlines, and firefighters conducted searches of the structure, which were all clear, according to the department.

The fire was brought under control at approximately 11:31 a.m. No injuries were reported…
