But after 17 years of early rising, Allie “Miss Vee” Toney closed her shop Vee’s Sweets & Treats at the end of 2025. The Marlborough Village store fed the neighborhood and beyond with freshly baked pastries, breads and homemade sandwiches.
Before it closed, her accountant Sheree Hudson helped her prepare financial records for interested buyers. It’s then that Hudson got a notion. “After seeing her numbers I thought ‘I might want to buy this business!’” she laughed. As a tax preparer for the past 22 years, Hudson says she’s big on math.
