Kansas City felon sentenced to seven years for illegal firearm

A Kansas City, Missouri, man has been sentenced in federal court for illegally possessing a firearm after previously being convicted of multiple felonies.

Marcus J. Porras, 32, received a seven-year federal prison sentence without the possibility of parole, according to a ruling issued by U.S. District Judge Beth Phillips.

Court records indicate that Porras pleaded guilty on Aug. 5, 2025, to a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. As part of the plea agreement, he acknowledged that he possessed a Glock 43 9mm pistol on April 13, 2025…
