Vet bills pushing pet owners into debt — KC nonprofit says there are options

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – When a lump appeared on KCTV5 reporter Morgan Riddell’s 4-year-old dog Willie, she was at the vet the next morning. The estimate for treatment: $2,300.

She was worried about affordability options and found she was not alone.

A nonprofit filling the gap

The Pet Resource Center has operated in Kansas City for more than 20 years. It began with a focus on spay and neuter services but has since expanded.
