‘Worth the wait!’ Kansas City eager to see nation’s founding documents

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – An exhibit featuring original founding documents of the United States is on display at the National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City for one more week, and visitors are lining up hours before doors open — some after being turned away the day before.

The exhibit, which marks the first stop on a national tour, includes an original engraving of the Declaration of Independence and the Senate markup of the Bill of Rights. The exhibit is inspired by the Bicentennial Freedom Train that stopped in Kansas City in March 1976.

Turned away once, visitors return
